Bird Sanctuary


UTAR Kampar Campus, situated next to 25 scenic lakes, is a great spot for avifauna enthusiasts.


One of the lakes on the Kampar Campus serves as a desired location for migratory birds. As is well known, the UTAR Bird Sanctuary is a heronry on an islet, situated in the centre of the lake.


The heronry is a place where heron species breed in colonies, and this is extremely rare because certain conditions must be met before the herons select a breeding location.

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) & Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Room


SEM is a surface imaging method in which the incident electron beam scans across the sample surface to acquire high magnification images of specimens.


AFM offers high resolution spatial distribution information and visualisation in 3D images from the tip movement of cantilever oscillation.


It is worth noting that each of these techniques resolves surface structure down to the nano-meter scale.


They provide both qualitative and quantitative information on a variety of physical properties such as size, morphology, surface texture, and roughness.

Solar Concentrator


The 120 m2 dual axis Non-Imaging Dish Concentrator (NIDC) is used to track the position of the sun and focus the sunray to the receiver which consists of dense-array concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) cells to generate electricity.


This project is funded by the Ministry of Energy, Water and Green Technology with a total of RM1.988 million.

SolarHub Park


UTAR Kampar Campus, in collaboration with Ditrolic Solar, has installed a 4.1 MWp on-site rooftop solar system with around 9,000 solar modules.


This system generates 75% of peak power demand, producing an estimated 108,142 MWh of clean energy over its lifetime.


This initiative supports UTAR's commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, aiming for carbon neutrality and reducing approximately 75,699 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Bird Sanctuary


UTAR Kampar Campus, situated next to 25 scenic lakes, is a great spot for avifauna enthusiasts.


One of the lakes on the Kampar Campus serves as a desired location for migratory birds. As is well known, the UTAR Bird Sanctuary is a heronry on an islet, situated in the centre of the lake.


The heronry is a place where heron species breed in colonies, and this is extremely rare because certain conditions must be met before the herons select a breeding location.


The most important factor is that the birds feel safe at the location.

Intel AI Lab


This Lab has a large selection of software and hardware for ICT practical classes.


This includes the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software for schematic design, Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software for embedded system development and simulation purposes.


Besides that, the lab is also equipped with plenty of electronic equipment and instrument, such as power supply, multi-meter, oscilloscope, function generator, and plenty of active and passive components, such as Arduino board, raspberry pi board, transistor, op-amp, diode, resistors, capacitors, and inductors to support various electronic hardware design.

This Studio is equipped with the latest facilities and equipment that meet the current standard for journalism fields.

Kampar Campus: Overview



The main campus of UTAR in Kampar was built on a 1300-acre land donated by the Perak State Government. It is located in Perak's growing township of Bandar Barat Kampar.


Kampar Campus is strategically located off the North-South highway, 190 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur and slightly more than two hours by car.


Kampar Campus, surrounded by picturesque mountains, dotted with picturesque lakes, and situated within a growing township, provides a conducive and serene learning environment.


This Campus has modern educational facilities and gives students access to some of the most cutting-edge learning technologies and research innovations. Furthermore, the Campus has sports facilities such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and a gymnasium. The large campus grounds are also great for jogging and cycling.

Language Lab


The Language Lab is where programmes for the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English Language and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English Education are taught.


The lab is equipped with software that is used for a variety of courses, including phonetics and phonology, computer-assisted languages learning, and educational technologies.


Aside from that, the computers in the lab are pre-loaded with research software such as SPSS and NVivo.

Learning Complex I


The Learning Complex I houses the majority of the tutorial and practical classes on campus. There are 36 classrooms, with each room can accommodate up to 30 students.

Lecture Theatres


This campus has more than 9 large-scale lecture theatres. Each lecture theatre has a capacity of 300- 400 students.

Main Library
(Upper Ground)


This is the main entrance to the Main Library, and loan services are available at the Circulation counter on the left-hand side. There is a Reference Service counter just in front of the Bloomberg corner where students and staff can approach our Librarian for reference and research assistance.


Leisure reading is located on the right-hand side of this floor, where students can relax and read the local daily newspapers, magazines, and journals.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Room


Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) involves the interaction of nuclei with magnetic moments with radiofrequency radiation.

Petrochemical Lab


This lab is used to cater the characterisation for polymer and material science analysis.


Among the equipment are the Lightweight Tensile Tester, Digital Rockwell Type Hardness Tester, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Particle Size Analyser (PSA), Gas Chromatography (GC-FID) and etc.


Moreover, the equipment housed in this lab is also used for teaching and research purposes.

Physics Labs


The Physics Labs are located at the first floor of the Faculty of Science building and it can hold up to 30 students per practical session.

Psychology Lab


This Lab is divided into 3 sections: the Psychology Room, the Counselling Room and the Playroom.


Psychology students can conduct psychological research and experiments in the Psychology Room based on their interests.


The Counselling Room is a practical area where students can practise the psychotherapy skills they learned in class.


The playroom offers an exciting opportunity for students to engage in hands-on play therapy with children. WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV, Bayley-4, Conners-3, TOVA 8, Gazepoint Eye Tracker, Psious Virtual Reality, and other psychological assessment tools are also available in the lab.

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) & Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Room


SEM is a surface imaging method in which the incident electron beam scans across the sample surface to acquire high magnification images of specimens.


AFM offers high resolution spatial distribution information and visualisation in 3D images from the tip movement of cantilever oscillation.


It is worth noting that each of these techniques resolves surface structure down to the nano-meter scale.


They provide both qualitative and quantitative information on a variety of physical properties such as size, morphology, surface texture, and roughness.

Shi Gu Collection


Siku Quanshu, variously translated as the Complete Library in Four Sections, Imperial Collection of Four, Emperor's Four Treasuries, Complete Library in Four Branches of Literature, or Complete Library of the Four Treasuries, is the largest collection of books in Chinese history and is made available at UTAR.

Solar Concentrator


The 120 m2 dual axis Non-Imaging Dish Concentrator (NIDC) is used to track the position of the sun and focus the sunray to the receiver which consists of dense-array concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) cells to generate electricity.


This project is funded by the Ministry of Energy, Water and Green Technology with a total of RM1.988 million.

SolarHub Park


UTAR Kampar Campus, in collaboration with Ditrolic Solar, has installed a 4.1 MWp on-site rooftop solar system with around 9,000 solar modules.


This system generates 75% of peak power demand, producing an estimated 108,142 MWh of clean energy over its lifetime.


This initiative supports UTAR's commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, aiming for carbon neutrality and reducing approximately 75,699 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Student Pavilion


There are two Student Pavilions with a cafeteria serving a variety of food at reasonable prices such as western food, Malaysian food, Chinese food, vegetarian food, and so on.


The average price for mixed rice with three dishes (meat, vegetables, and egg) is about RM5-RM6.


The Student Pavilion also provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for students to eat their meals while overlooking the beautiful view of the lake and greenery.


Aside from serving food, student activities such as a Flea Market, Club and Societies Member Recruitment Drive, Student Fundraising Activities, and external company roadshows and fairs can be held here.


There are also push-carts inside each faculty building that serve food and beverages.

The Bronze Sculptures/Heritage Building


The bronze statues of Confucius and Einstein, which weigh a total of 580kg, are located in front of UTAR Heritage Hall.
The bronze sculptures of Confucius and Einstein depict two world-renowned scholars from different eras and cultures – an eminent philosopher from the East and a brilliant physicist from the West – seated facing each other, pondering the next move in the mind-boggling game of chess.
